Andrew Lane

Mr. Andrew Lane brings new life to the old adage “You can take the boy out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the Boy,” which is surprising given the hard time a snarky little runt like Mr. Lane must have had growing up in Texas. Studying advertising at Austin’s prestigious University of Texas, Mr. Lane went on to realize that, at best on a good day, he made for a mediocre Copywriter. After a damp detour in Oregon, he left the Agency side, and moved to New York, where it quickly became apparent that he had an aptitude for Three Card Monte, a skill he would later recall translated directly into the smoke and mirrors world of Hidden Camera work.

 In 2003, along with partner Chris Morgan, Mr. Lane founded TVBoy, Western Queens’ premiere hidden camera production house. Mr. Lane and Mr. Morgan quickly took TVBoy from a multi-thousand dollar company, to an industry leading multi-tens of thousand (2 tens to be exact) dollar powerhouse, with which he technically designed and supervised such award winning commercial spots as Burger King’s “Whopper Freakout” (Smuggler, Henry Alex Rubin,) and Bud Light’s (in)famous “Epic Night” (HeLo, Jeff Tremaine.) He is also responsible for the hijinx on various TV series such as MTV’s “Boiling Points,” TruTV’s “Impractical Jokers,” and ABC’s “What Would You Do?” featuring John Quinones (and yes, John Quinones is every bit as awesome as you think he is.)

 After years of sitting side by side (in very cozy Control Rooms) with the greats of Non-Fiction as Technical Director, Mr. Lane decided it was time to take the reigns for himself. Combining a folksy and relatable, yet quick sense of humor with “Chicken in July” quick wits (I don’t know what that means, it is some kind of Texas thing,) Mr. Lane’s directing makes the most out of mining the fleeting seconds that his unsuspecting Subjects allow themselves to be pried open for those golden moments.

 In his free time, Mr. Lane enjoys drinking “Texas Style” (whatever that means,) and shady Karaoke joints.
